Explicit, systematic instruction in the essential skills of literacy

Professional Development

comprehensive-trainingOne L Publishing is the sole provider of professional development for the LOGIC program. Professional development is held at conference centers at various locations, however most professional development is held in school districts upon specific request.

Professional development for Phase 1 of LOGIC is a two-day training. Day 1 consists of the current science and research available regarding best practices in reading, spelling, and writing. The history of the English alphabetic writing system and etymology is also addressed. We also will discuss the Orton-Gillingham approach, the implementation process and development of the LOGIC lessons. Day 2 includes the content contained within the scope and sequence of the LOGIC lessons along with peer-to-peer practice with a sample lesson.  Comprehension instruction is discussed using the decodable text.

We recommend one day of professional development for the next four phases of LOGIC. Although professional development is recommended, it is not required to purchase LOGIC manuals and ancillary materials.
